Ken (Lord) Maginnis has a foul temper. But, today, he paid the price for that temper and was found guilty of assaulting a motorist in a road-rage incident. The Peer of the Realm admitted to swearing at the other motorist – calling him a “yellow bellied bastard”.
Maginnis likes name-calling. I had a few run-ins with him over the years. He doesn’t like Atheists. He told me so once outside Stormont after hearing me argue the case for secular education at a meeting we both attended in the Long Gallery. He called me names. He didn’t really listen.
He’s also on record for not liking other groups of people. And he makes his distaste for such people very clear when he uses very colorful language (not exclusive to yellow).
He isn’t especially fond of gay people. He had his whip removed from the UUP after making those comments . He then left the UUP in a huff.
I know he doesn’t really like the Conservative Party. He’s a bit sniffy about Labour and Lid-Dems too (he sits as a Cross-Bencher in the Lords). Not sure who he likes.
Maginnis may be a Peer of the Realm. But he gets angry. He gets very angry.
